On September 14, Leo XIV has appointed Bishop Pedro Luis Fuentes Valencia, 58, as Military Ordinary for Bolivia.
The Passionist bishop has served as apostolic administrator of the Military Ordinary since 2022, alongside his duties as auxiliary bishop of La Paz.
Fuentes represented the Bolivian bishops at both sessions of the Synod on Synodality in Rome in 2023 and 2024.

Being a homosexual isn't a sin, so homosexuals have never been and aren't now barred from receiving Communion. Mature married men have worked out as well in the parishes founded by Anglicans who converted to Catholicism and, of course, historically in the Eastern Churches, so I don't see what people are worrying about. As long as they don't offer ordination to married men under the age of, say, 45 or 50, I think they'd make an excellent and much needed source of new priests.

A disturbing incident occurred during Sunday Mass at Holy Family Church in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, where a woman disrupted Communion by grabbing and dropping the vessel used for intinction, spilling some of the Precious Blood.
Since they have a video of the Mass, hand it over to the police and send copies to the news media. If it were just the humans being disrespected, they could choose to "grin and bear it" but since God was profaned, the woman needs to be tracked down and punished.
