The implementation phase of the synod “will mark a new stage in the reception of the Second Vatican Council,” Cardinal Mario Grech warned the consistory on Saturday. He is a Cardinal and the Vatican's Secretary of the Synod. His lengthy speech, which was around 3,000 words long, was published on Zenit.org. I think when we read Vatican Council II we must keep the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus before us(the text is there in Wikipedia and the website Catholicism.org). Then we must ask ourself if there is anything in Vatican Council II which contradicts the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus(EENS) before us. If there is a reference to a hypothetical case as in Lumen Gentium then it is not an exception to the dogma EENS. Since for there to be an exception to EENS there would have to be an example of salvation outside the Church, the person would have to be known who has been saved as such. An invisible and unknown person cannot be an exception to EENS. So you will see that there is nothing in Vatican Council II or the Catechism of the Catholic Church to contradict the 'rigorist interpretation' of the dogma EENS. For you there is confusion since you infer, in your mind, that hypothetical cases of LG 16, LG 8, LG 14, UR 3, NA 2, UR 3 etc …Lokwengentiwe
